Demographic Data

Demographics is the systematic study of human populations. This is helpful for your project, as knowing something about the number of people in a community, their average income, etc. will go some way towards showing how feasible it would be to open a practice there

The single best source for demographic data in the U.S. is the U.S. Census Bureau. The Census Bureau (a sub-agency of the Department of Commerce) is the central clearinghouse for all kinds of data. Probably the best-known source of data is the census of population that is taken once every decade. The latest version, Census 2000 attempted yet again to count every single person living in the United States. Even more valuable for our purposes is the much more detailed data about household income and the like that the Bureau collects from a representative sample of Americans.
