[New England College of Optometry Library]

Access restrictions

Many of the Library's resources have restrictions, such as whether or not they are available off campus, have a password requirement, or are available to current students, faculty and staff. Individual access restrictions are described below.

Access from College workstations only

These resources can be accessed from anywhere on the Beacon Street campus (including the library) and at the Commonwealth practice. However, licensing agreements for these resources do not allow off-campus use.

Free Access to Older Issues

These resources have full-text that is freely available (on or off-campus) to the public after an embargo period has passed, ranging anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

Free to all

As the name implies, these resources are freely available to everyone, regardless of location or affiliation.

Off-campus access

By logging in to the off-campus service, your non-College computer appears to the resource provider as if it is on the College network. This allows you to access Library resources that would otherwise be off-limits. Detailed instructions for logging in can be found here.

Password Required

These resources require the use of a password (which can only be issued to current students, faculty and staff) for access, on or off-campus. Please contact us at (617) 587-5589 or library@neco.edu for more information.
